Here’s why I love chain-style row counters: it’s almost impossible to forget to move them up at the end of the row. Nothing to click or tap – when you come to the counter, just hook the next ring down with your needle as you pass it over like a stitch marker. Easy and natural! The pretty dangle ensures that you always know which direction is down.

If you need to track repeats of more than 10 rows, no problem: you can attach a removable stitch marker or safety pin to mark 10 rows done. (Same principle: after 20 rows, you move that marker down to the second ring.)
