Blocking is a key step to achieving polished results and a perfect fit. The idea is simple: soak your finished pieces, gently squeeze out the water and pin them to the intended measurements, ensuring that the edges are straight, before leaving them to dry. Getting the shapes just right can be tedious, though – which is where the right tools make such a difference.

The Knools Blocking Wire Set includes four flexible yet stable wires (each 120cm long), made from rustproof spring steel with a fine plastic coating, made to slip smoothly through your work and never tarnish. Thirty T-pins are included to hold the wires in place, and it’s all packed in a tidy tin.
