Alpaca yarn is prized for its softness and warmth – especially the “baby” alpaca yarn, spun from the animal’s first shearing, which produces the finest, softest fibres; at 22 micron, this is almost as fine as cashmere.

Compared with wool, alpaca fabric is warmer and gentler on the skin, but less bouncy. Choose alpaca for luxurious blankets, shawls and sweaters that benefit from drape and a subtle halo.
